This group of Rangers was formed after the Catalyst, but its roots stretch back to the Order of the Grey Oak, guardians of the Grey Oak Grove and its Druid wardens. The fall of the Earthaven Empire came with the destruction of many of the old institutions and traditions, and with that, many of the ancient ways were lost, leaving the survivors to attempt to preserve their knowledge and to rebuild using that knowledge as the foundation of something new. This is how the Order of the Silver Fox came to be.
A strong belief in honor and truthfulness, even to their own detriment, guides their members as they protect the natural order of the realm and any people who cannot defend themselves. A staunch Code of Conduct known as the Oath of Honor is taught to the members and it enforces these beliefs, and the Rangers have no issue in letting others know when they believe those tenets have been insulted, ignored, or assaulted.
Oath of Honor
I - Never violate an oath you have sworn. Never swear an oath you know you cannot keep.
II - It is not enough to say I will not be evil. Evil must be fought wherever it is found.
III - Never lie, cheat or steal, these things are beneath us.
IV - Honor is the ideal of respect between parties. Take what is given and return it two fold.
V - Do not attack an enemy from behind. This is the coward's path to victory. Meet your foe head on so that they may know the end is near.
VI - Come to the aid of your fellow Ranger in times of need. Never turn a companion away when in need.
VII - Never back away from an enemy, either fight or surrender.
