Heraldry for the Warhounds

What Makes the Grass Grow

The Warhounds are a formidable faction that arose from the devastated remnants of the Earthaven Empire's once-thriving heartland, now a barren area known as The Wastes. This region, once the Empire's "breadbasket," now lies in ruins, stripped of resources and infested with threats, both natural and magical. Born from this devastation, the Warhounds have hardened into survivors, shaped by conflict and scarcity. Led into the Kingdom of Strifeland by Sir Dee Guyson, a descendent of the Darkblade revenant line, the Warhounds seek to establish themselves in a thriving and less dangerous land. Not long into the settlement Ion used his necromantic powers to overthrow Dee and seize control of the Warhounds.

Operating outside traditional moral codes, they follow their own principles driven by ambition and the desire for dominance. They do not pledge loyalty to any faction but are willing to barter, fight, or form temporary alliances to achieve their goals. Their main ambition is to carve out a territory within the politically charged Kingdom of Strifeland, rich in resources and ripe for exploitation.

Notorious for employing both dark and light magics, some Warhounds practice necromancy, summoning the dead to strengthen their ranks, while others wield healing magic manipulatively or for a price. For them, the distinction between dark and light magic is its use, and that is merely a tool for their agenda.

They value a practical form of honor that serves their interests, demonstrating loyalty when it benefits them but being quick to betray when advantageous. Loyalty within their ranks is fluid, as leadership is earned through strength and cunning. Despite their ruthlessness, they respect those who endure hardship. As the Warhounds advance toward their goal in Strifeland, they leave behind destruction and strategic alliances punctuated by unsettling rumors.
